IMakeup artists have a hard time picking favorites – they have so many amazing products to play with every day. However, this means there is a surefire way to know which the GOAT is: by using it on yourself every day.
Obviously everyone’s skin is different, and we have different skin needs, different color matches, different things we want our foundation to do. Still, it’s always fun to watch the MUA favorites. We spoke to LA and Las Vegas-based makeup artist and beauty educator Kandice Delgado to find out what she personally uses on a daily basis.
your first choice? “My favorite foundation is Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk,” says Delgado. “I’m 33 but I honestly love this foundation for any age – it’s like The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, but for the basis. Like these jeans, Luminous Silk fits everyone like a glove.”
The foundation comes in 40 shades, meaning a whole range of different skin tones should be able to easily find their match. According to Delgado, it offers medium coverage with a natural finish, making it great for everyday wear. It’s oil-free, which means it doesn’t get greasy — instead, it gives you the “perfect shine,” says Delgado.
What makes the formula so special is the fact that it’s made with specially formulated pigments that lay flat on the skin’s surface, allowing for seamless blending. Because of this, the product is easily buildable, allowing you to apply for fully customized coverage. It lasts all day without looking sticky or flaky and allows for breathability that most traditional foundations lack.
